New Start Scotland, held this past weekend at Glasgow’s SECC arena, provided businesses of all sizes, from new starts to established businesses, to talk with a vast number of suppliers from a broad range of industries. The show also included a number of seminars and workshops for visitors and exhibitors to attend and receive sound advice on a range of business matters, from developing business plans to marketing and financial matters. Of these seminars, undoubtedly the most well attended was the speech Sir Tom Farmer (former owner of Kwik Fit) delivered to a highly attentive audience.
Web Wise Business were present at the exhibition and had a great time talking with the many visitors looking for advice or considering improving their online presence….or simply in need of a free pen! We also caught up with Sir Tom over the course of the three visits he made to our stand. Apparently formerly in the tyre business (who knew?!), Sir Tom was kind enough to provide some free publicity for Web Wise Business on the BBC’s Reporting Scotland evening news. He also invited us for a nice cup of tea the next time we are through in Edinburgh.
While many repeat exhibitors and visitors to the event felt that this year was quieter than previous events, we at Web Wise Business were thoroughly pleased with the number of people we spoke to and the amount of leads and potential business gained from exhibiting. So much so in fact that we are already booked to return next year where not only will we have the stand (mark it on your diary and get there early to make sure you get the chance to talk with us – we were very busy both days!), but we will also be holding workshops on both days.
If you didn’t manage to make it along to the event but you are thinking of either having a website developed, or improving your existing online presence, then why not give Web Wise Business a call and find out how you could generate increased sales for your business online.
